New Researchers Hired into the Partnership

We are excited to announce that four researchers have been hired at Social Science Baha: Bina LimbuBidhyaman Mahatara, and Prakash Chandra Subedi all began their appointments on November 17th, 2017, and Manoj Suji has joined the team since then. The researchers will now begin preparing to carry out ethnographic fieldwork in the three earthquake-affected regions of Nepal over the coming year.

Principal Investigator, Sara Shneiderman, and other project members have met with the researchers in Kathmandu this month to go through the ethics review process, research timeline, and field methods training.

We would also like to introduce Nabin Rawal who has joined us from the faculty of Tribhuvan University-Central Department of Anthropology (TU-CDA). Nabin will be working with others at Social Science Baha to mentor the researchers, and we are very pleased with this additional element of the partnership.

Finally, Courtney Balaz-Munn is a first year Master’s student in Geography at the University of Toronto, who will be working with co-investigator Katharine Rankin within the framework of this project. Her work aligns with the law domain and focuses specifically on earthquake reconstruction, state restructuring, and TRC processes.

A very warm welcome to all the new project members!
